Maverick Advocaten strengthens leading market position in merger notifications to Authority for Consumers and Markets

Last year, we were already able to report that Maverick Advocaten had become the leading specialist in obtaining approval for mergers and acquisitions from the Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM) and other regulatory authorities. Maverick Advocaten became the market leader in the field of merger notifications, responsible for 30% of all ACM notifications. At that time, we were already involved in one of the ACM's in-depth (second phase) investigations each year.

We are delighted that we have been able to further expand this strong market position over the past year to include more complex investigations. Maverick Advocaten has been involved in three of the five in-depth investigations conducted by ACM since mid-2024. These concern the M&A transactions Finco/Klaas de Boer (completed, approval with remedies), Glaspoort/Delta Fiber (ongoing) and Zwanenberg/Unox (ongoing).

We distinguish ourselves through our pragmatic approach, which is aimed at obtaining approval for a transaction as quickly and cost-efficiently as possible. We do this not only with the ACM, but also with other regulators such as the Dutch Healthcare Authority (NZa) and the Dutch FDI Authority (BTI), where we also handle a large share of the notifications. As a result, we count most of the (larger) M&A firms, advisors and private equity companies in the Netherlands among our regular clients.

We are very proud of this market position and intend to expand it into a double monopoly.
