Maverick Advocaten obtains approval from ACM and NZa for merger rehabilitation care

Martijn van de Hel and Bas van Os obtain approval from the Autoriteit Consument en Markt (ACM) and the Nederlandse Zorgautoriteit (NZa) for a formerly planned merger between the two healthcare providers.

Rijndam is a Netherlands-based organisation that provides specialist medical rehabilitation care for children, young people and adults with complex problems resulting from illness, disability or accident. Rijndam also supports employees and employers in achieving sustainable labour participation and effective absenteeism management.

Adelante is a Netherlands-based organisation active in the field of specialist medical rehabilitation care for adults and children, audiology and communication (hearing, language and speech problems), intensive clinical and day care for children, special education and work integration for people with physical or mental disabilities.

On 7 October 2025, the merger was notified to the NZa. It was approved by the NZa on 16 January 2026. On 23 January 2026, the merger was notified to the ACM. It was approved by the ACM on 9 February 2026. Rijndam and Adelante have now decided that the merger will no longer take place.
