Maverick Advocaten wins preliminary relief against healthcare insurer for orthopaedic shoemakers

Diederik Schrijvershof, Annabel Kingma and Leah Peeters successfully litigated on behalf of various orthopaedic shoemakers to obtain realistic rates from a large healthcare insurer. Despite increased costs for orthopaedic shoemakers, the insurer refused to index its multi-year agreement. This is contrary to, among other things, the STAR judgment. In view of the preliminary relief proceedings, the healthcare insurer was forced to amend its healthcare procurement policy for medical devices and the healthcare agreement for foot orthoses. This prompted the orthopaedic shoemakers to withdraw their preliminary relief proceedings.
