Diederik Schrijvershof and Paul Breithaupt successfully assisted Growers United and Scherpenhuizen in obtaining approval from the ACM for the acquisition of joint control over Scherpenhuizen Spain.
Growers United is a (CMO-certified) producer organization of fruit vegetable growers. The growers produce fruit vegetables at various locations, mainly in the Netherlands. Scherpenhuizen is a trading company specialising in fresh fruit and vegetables. Scherpenhuizen focuses primarily on marketing Dutch (greenhouse) vegetables, more specifically the wholesale, packaging, storage and transhipment of a wide range of fruit and vegetables. In addition, Scherpenhuizen also grows fresh vegetables through its subsidiary Kamps. Scherpenhuizen Spain is currently a wholly owned subsidiary of Scherpenhuizen and is active in Spain in the production of snack cucumbers and snack peppers.
The transaction was notified to the ACM on 21 May 2025. The ACM approved the transaction on 10 June 2025.
