Martijn van de Hel and Adriaan Craita have assisted Eneco Consumenten B.V. in obtaining approval from the ACM for the acquisition of the Welkom Energie’s 90.000 customers. Eneco is a supplier of gas and electricity to end consumers and forms part of the Eneco Group. Welkom Energie is a supplier of gas and electricity to consumers. The transaction has been extensively discussed in the media.
The acquisition was notified to the ACM on 15 October 2021. On 25 October 2021, the ACM approved of the acquisition.
Maverick Advocaten has previously assisted Eneco with the acquisition of Essent’s wholesale business activities.
