Maverick Advocaten gives recall training to FNLI members

Judith Jansen and Cyriel Ruers provided in-depth and practical training on product recalls in the food sector on 30 September 2025. The training is part of the FNLI Academy. Participants consisted of various specialists from food companies, including quality managers, sales and purchasing staff, regulatory affairs specialists and legal department staff.

An (imminent) recall puts food companies under considerable pressure and requires quick, well-considered decisions. Should you always recall a potentially unsafe product? What if the NVWA intervenes? And what exactly are your rights and obligations? During the training, Judith and Cyriel provided clear insight into the legal position of companies in the event of a recall, from the perspective of food law and administrative law. Using current case law and concrete practical examples, they discussed what does and does not work in practice.

Judith and Cyriel will be giving this FNLI Academy training course again on 27 November 2025 and 21 May 2026. You can still register for the session on 21 May via this link.
