Maverick Advocaten obtains Commission approval for largest acquisition to date by Van Mossel

Cyriel Ruers, Saskia Stolk and Adriaan Craita successfully assisted Van Mossel Automotive Group in obtaining approval from the European Commission for its acquisition of German automotive company LöhrGruppe. The transaction represents the largest acquisition by Van Mossel to date.

LöhrGruppe is one of the largest automotive groups in Germany in terms of sales, with approximately 1,700 employees. It has 35 branches in the regions of Rhineland-Palatinate, North Rhine-Westphalia and Hesse for the brands Volkswagen, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, Audi, Porsche, Škoda, SEAT and CUPRA.

Van Mossel Automotive Group was already active in Germany and with this acquisition further expands its position, following the earlier acquisition of German Nord-Ostsee Automobile in which Maverick Advocaten also advised. With the LöhrGruppe, Van Mossel Automotive Group grows to more than 10,000 employees and a turnover of 8.5 billion euros in the Benelux countries, Denmark, Germany, France and the United Kingdom. In over 75 years, Van Mossel Automotive Group has grown to become the largest automotive company in the Benelux. After this acquisition, there are 566 branches in the Benelux, Denmark, Germany, France and the United Kingdom. The group includes dealerships of 48 car brands.
