Martijn van de Hel and Adriaan Craita together with Barbara van Hussen and William Bommel of JB Law advised Van der Mey Group in obtaining approval from the ACM for the acquisition of Van der Mey Group by DGS Group.
DGS Group (Group of Butchers) is active in the production and sale of a wide range of meat products and processed meat products, mainly to retailers in the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium.
J.G. Van der Mey Group is active in the production and sale of processed pork meat products. Van der Mey sells its products mainly to the food processing industry for further processing and the out-of-home segment, but partly also directly to retailers.
The acquisition was notified to the ACM on 18 November 2022. The ACM approved the acquisition on 20 January 2023.
