Sietske Brinksma

Sietske Brinksma is a lawyer specialising in Dutch and European competition law and FDI regulations.

Within this field, Sietske has gained experience in a wide range of topics and in various sectors. Sietske advises on merger control, cartel investigations, abuse of dominant positions and vertical agreements and collaborations, including distribution issues, joint ventures and the exchange of competitively sensitive information. She also has experience with dawn raids by the ACM.

Sietske was sworn in as a solicitor in September 2022 and has been working at Maverick Advocaten since December 2025. Prior to that, she worked at another law firm, where she gained international experience in competition and trade and was involved in advising on cross-border cases from offices throughout Europe. During this period, she completed both the Professional Training for Lawyers and the Law Firm School programme.

In 2020 and 2021, Sietske graduated cum laude with a Master's degree in European Law and International Business Law from Tilburg University. In both programmes, she chose to specialise in competition law, and her theses were graded 9 and 8.5 respectively. In 2020, she received a Certificate of Excellence in competition law from Tilburg University.

Sietske is a member of the Competition Law Association, W@competition and the Investment Assessment Association.
