Joris Ruigewaard advises and litigates in the field of European and Dutch competition law. Joris has a great deal of experience with all aspects of competition law. He has experience with requests for leniency, dawn raids and cartel investigations by the Netherlands Authority for Consumers & Markets (ACM). He has provided compliance training in various sectors and as a compliance officer assisted with the implementation and application of compliance programmes.
Furthermore, he has experience with the application of competion law in the healthcare and pharmaceutical sector. For example, he was instrumental in getting the green light for the acquisition of Mediq by Brocacef and has experience with advice on (joint) purchasing of healthcare services. Recently, he counselled a dental professional association in proceedings regarding maximum tarifs of the Dutch Healthcare Authority and the European rules on free movement.
Joris graduated cum laude in International and European Law at Radboud University in Nijmegen in 2011. Before joining Maverick Advocaten, Joris worked at Loyens & Loeff. He lectures frequently at seminars and training institutes and is since 2013 a guest lecturer competition law at the University of Amsterdam.
