Diederik Schrijvershof has represented European Investors Association (“EIA”) regarding the merger of Deutsche Börse and London Stock Exchange. On 24 August 2016, Deutsche Börse and London Stock Exchange notified their merger to the European Commission (the “Commission”). On 29 March 2017 the Commission prohibited the merger.
The merger of DB and LSE raised a lot of concerns as reactions from Belgium and France demonstrated. In August 2016, EIA addressed its concerns regarding the merger in a letter to the Commission. Subsequently, EIA further explained its concerns to the Commission during the Phase I and Phase II investigation of the Commission. Maverick Advocaten assisted EIA in all the stages of this process.
